We are excited to offer a new Taiko course for adults (16+, 14+ with accompanying adult) starting on Friday the 13th of October.
The course will be held in St Paul’s Parish centre, De-La-Beche Road, SA2 9AR. It will consist of 8 sessions on Friday evenings 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. starting on the 13th October and finishing on the 8th of December (with a break on the 17th of November). We will teach the basics of this great artform through fun rhythms and one whole piece.
No previous experience is required! Taiko drumming is a fun activity suitable to all. It’s easy to pick up and it improves stamina, strength, concentration and sense of rhythm. As a group activity it creates opportunities for building friendships and communities. The sound of the drums played together is exciting and empowering.
We will provide the drums and sticks.
Plenty of car parking available as well as a bus stop nearby.
We hope to see you there! 🙂
UPDATE 24th Oct 2017: The course is now full. We might be running more courses and workshops soon, so please contact us if you would like to take part.
Hi, I was just wondering if there were any other beginner courses or workshops coming up please? Thanks
Hi Emma!
sorry for the late reply…We don’t usually get messages through here.
Yes, there is a course coming up for beginners. It will start late April or early May, on Thursday evenings, after 7pm in Gors community centre.
We are finalising details and will send out a newsletter in the next week or so – would you like to sign up for our mailing list?
Otherwise we will post details here and on FB and Twitter.
best wishes,
Yasmin
